Yes, God speaks to us in dreams, but they can be difficult to understand. Why? Thankfully, by using the Bible, we can learn what God is saying to us in dreams. Have you had any dreams that you'd like to share?

Hi, all. Everyone is quiet out there, so I thought I'd kick off some discussion with a topic about dreams. Over the past year, I have had 4 dreams about trees falling and/or bending:

1) A dream of three trees falling on a hill around me to the wind, but I was okay.
2) A dream of walking through a forest and seeing trees bending to the ground at the force of a great wind.
3) A dream of sitting at a picnic table with my kids and trees were falling all around me. Again, I noted that I was okay after they fell.
4) Most interestingly, a dream of looking out through a window to see a distant patch of trees. A bulldozer was knocking them down. I screamed "NO!" and went the long way to stop the bulldozer. I crossed a ravine and struggled to get there, but when I arrived, I saw that the Developer (God) was creating something really nice. Some trees remained. I was happy and turned back home.

In March, a storm came through our neighborhood and knocked down two trees, one of which fell on all three of our cars. I barely missed our home leaving just a scratch in the pain. Multiple storms this year have felled lots of trees around us.

This week, Hurricane Isaias (translated "Isaiah" which means "God is Salvation" and "God is Helper") has knocked down trees all over the east coast. Today on the news, national reporters said that they have never seen anything like it. There are trees down everywhere.

How can this dream be interpreted? First, by looking at the significance of trees in the Bible. A few verses:
Matthew 7:17 (People/Leaders)
Proverbs 3:13-18 (Wisdom)
Ezekiel 31:3 (Assyria/Nations)
Psalm 1 (Man)
Daniel 4:10-12 (People/Leader/Nebuchadnezzar) - This is a DREAM of a tree that was interpreted by Daniel:

Question: In these dreams, who or what is causing the trees to fall?

To me, God is doing a bit of leveling… making the way for something that HE, the "Developer" is about to do. Because of the dreams of the storms, then, I am encouraged that GOD is in CONTROL.

Thoughts? Any dreams you'd like to share?
